Project FAITH

Project FAITH (Fuel Assembly Incorporating Thermal Hydraulics) is part of the UK government funded Advanced Manufacturing and Materials (AMM) Phase 2 nuclear innovation programme. This collaborative project addresses the shortage of internationally competitive UK facilities, as well as the loss of sodium R&D capability in the UK. It will also build on existing UK fuel manufacturing capability, demonstrate AMM and create a facility for growing capabilities in instrumenting and conducting experiments. Bringing together a wide range of SMEs from the UK supply chain and academia to participate in Project FAITH ensures a more robust talent pipeline to support the future UK nuclear industry.

The following video captures a brief summary of Project FAITH. It demonstrates the design and manufacture of our modular Thermal Hydraulics testing rig at Cammell Laird and subsequent transport to its hosting Facility at NNL’s Workington Rig Hall.
